ABOUT US

TRANSFORMING THE WAY
YOU BREATHE

Jhonka is an engineering-led firm specializing in the design, execution, and long-term stewardship of healthy indoor environments. Moving beyond simple cooling, the company focuses on the ‘invisible layer of air’ to ensure CO₂ levels, humidity, and airflow are scientifically optimized for human health. Our 'Total Indoor Environment Design' philosophy integrates mechanical engineering with air quality science to deliver energy-efficient, sustainable outcomes. All this so that - You Live Better. Breathe Better.

Transforming the way you breathe

VISION

To lead the evolution of healthy indoor environments, where buildings breathe intelligently and every space helps people live better through efficient air.

MISSION

Engineer healthy indoor environments through science-led design, precise execution, and lifelong stewardship of air systems that deliver comfort, health, and efficiency.

Target

THE 6 STEPS FOR BETTER AIR

STEP 1

Measure before acting

Jhonka begins by scientifically auditing the indoor environment to understand reality, not assumptions.

They measure:
  • CO₂ levels to assess ventilation adequacy
  • PM2.5 / PM10 to understand pollution load
  • Temperature and humidity behaviour
  • Odours, VOCs, and stagnation zones
  • Occupancy patterns and space usage

This creates a clear baseline of indoor air health and energy inefficiency.

STEP 2

Design air behaviour before selecting systems

Instead of starting with equipment, Jhonka designs in this order:

People → Air behaviour → Systems → Equipment → Controls → Data

They ensure:
  • Fresh air reaches the breathing zone
  • Ventilation is based on real occupancy
  • Cooling, filtration, humidity, and airflow work as one system
  • Energy efficiency is embedded at design stage
STEP 3

Optimise to balance health and energy

Fresh air normally increases energy consumption.

Jhonka avoids this through:
  • CO₂-based demand-controlled ventilation
  • Energy recovery from exhaust air
  • Hybrid and climate-appropriate system selection
  • Right-sized equipment to avoid overcooling
  • This allows fresh air without unnecessary energy loss.
STEP 4

Execute with clinical precision

During installation, design efficiency is protected through:

  • Clean duct handling and sealed air paths
  • Precision installation of HVAC, ventilation, and filtration systems
  • Acoustic and vibration control measures
  • Poor execution is avoided because it compromises air quality and energy performance.
STEP 5

Prove performance after installation

After execution, Jhonka validates outcomes through:

  • Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB)
  • Airflow and ventilation rate verification
  • Pressure balancing and humidity checks
  • Sensor calibration and control logic testing
  • Clean air is measured and documented, not assumed.
STEP 6

Sustain performance over time

Indoor air quality is maintained through:

  • Continuous monitoring of CO₂, PM2.5, RH, VOCs
  • Data dashboards and trend analysis
  • Predictive, condition-based maintenance
  • Periodic indoor health and performance reports

This ensures air quality does not degrade after handover.
